Melanie Irog, our Founder and Clinical Director, is a dynamic professional whose journey exemplifies dedication, excellence, and lifelong learning. As a Certified Behaviour Analyst (CBA) with a Master’s degree in Applied Behavior Analysis from Griffith University, Melanie is currently pursuing a Master of Autism at the University of Wollongong to deepen her expertise and become a Developmental Educator.

Melanie’s passion for supporting neurodivergent individuals stems from her personal experience as a mother to a neurodivergent child. This has inspired her to adopt a neuro-affirming and trauma-informed approach, ensuring her work respects and uplifts the unique strengths of the individuals and families she supports. Her blend of personal insight and professional expertise allows her to create empowering, inclusive environments that promote self-acceptance and resilience.

Melanie’s professional journey in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) began in 2017 through personal experiences and expanded into a formal career in 2020. Her dual perspective enables her to connect with neurodivergent individuals and their families on a profound level, tailoring evidence-based interventions that genuinely address their needs. As the Founder and Clinical Director of Progress Therapy, she leads a dedicated team of therapists who share her commitment to providing compassionate, neurodiversity-affirming care.

Melanie is also a seasoned entrepreneur and a visionary. Prior to Progress Therapy, she has founded ventures such as a travel and events business and a specialty café, highlighting her entrepreneurial spirit and diverse skills in building and managing enterprises.
